I've always been a quiet dreamer. I imagined a life shaped by nature and creativity, but like many, found myself swept into the steady current of business contracts, client deadlines, and constant compromise. Art became an escape from the demands of work and an uncertain future because it gives me something small that is truly mine and takes me back to an earlier time.

Growing up in a quiet corner of a big city, my beach haven overlooking the sea shaped how I see the world. I found comfort in the rolling waves, ever-changing scenery, and sunsets every evening, and that sense of nostalgic wonder mixed with industrial scale runs through my work.

While art has been a constant throughout my life, but only faintly in the background, I want my young children to see that a creative practice can sit alongside a career and make life richer. I hope they grow up seeing me make time for something I love and feel the freedom and support to do the same.

I'm a mixed media artist working mainly in industrial materials. I create sculptures in concrete and metal, and paintings on plywood that can be scraped back and burnt to reveal layers of exploration. My work is held in private collections in the UK, Canada, and New Zealand. It still feels extraordinary knowing that something I made to understand my own place in the world can find an important place in someone else's.
